How to keep organized during your busy week.
In this day and age our life can be chaotic at times. It is often full of distractions, negativity and the unexpected. According to various research and studies it is proven that clutter and an untidy living space/workplace can actually cause stress (To an already pretty stressful life). Here are my top tips for a more manageable approach to decluttering and organization.
Make your bed.
This may seem like an obvious one, however it is often forgotten. Come up with a routine that starts with this at the top of your list. An oldie but a goodie.
Wash your dishes.
We have all been there, you are tired after working a 9am-no end in sight. You are either working from home or coming home from work the last thing you want to do is wash dishes. However if you put some music on and load the dishwasher or handwash your dishes. That feel good moment will be the reward. The satisfaction of being able to walk into the kitchen and feel even more accomplished. Also not having a bio-hazard of bacteria living in your sink is also pretty rad.
Take out, place back.
Well this one is confusing isn’t it? Let me explain the rule. Every time you take something out it must be placed back. We all have that one chair that holds endless items of clothing. When you are cooking, and there are endless spices on your counter. Well the rule is, if you take something out, place it right back. There is no need to let it hang out outside of where it belongs. It creates bad habits. By then its too late you have a mess, that will then decrease your creativity, elevate your stress, and simply create a negative living space.
Take out the trash
It smells, things that live in the trash release odors plain and simple.
Buy less.
I often find myself scrolling through and realizing that I really don’t need an avocado slicer. I can simply use a knife. You can hire a cleaning company with all the money you will save! (See what I did there? Wink...)
These small steps will help you get organized throughout the week, follow these 5 simple steps and you will start to develop some good habits. Don’t worry if you fall of the wagon, remember GoodCo can also help you get organized if you need a little help.
